In ShipIntel you can monitor vessel traffic in ports and areas as well as adding notifications to your vessels and vessel lists.

ShipIntel is a modularized software application for shipping professionals where you can access some basic functionality and invite in as many colleagues as you want for free. You can subscribe to the paid modules to expand the value of your subscription. Further, if you choose to upgrade, you and your team will also access the features in the mobile app.


In the free version, you can click on ports to find the live AIS Port Traffic 20 times and subscribe to be notified when vessels arrive in ports. On your desktop or laptop; you will find added notifications under “Notifications” in the menu. On your mobile or tablet: you will receive push notifications and you can manage them under ”Team Resources”.



How to use the Port & Area Monitoring Module:

Port statistics

1) Overview: When entering the port and area monitoring module the first site you see will be the overview page:

2) Get started: click the "add port" button to add a port and get started with viewing statistics for ports based on historical AIS data. After selecting your preferred port you will see the port statistic page. This page shows you statistics about the port you have selected. You can also view the port’s location on the map and see the vessels that are currently in the port:

Live AIS overview

The map shows the port’s location and the vessels that are currently in the port. The different colors represent different vessel types.

Port statistics

This section shows different statistics about the port. Click on them to view more details.

  • Vessels in port graph

    Click here to see the number of vessels that have visited the port during the selected time period, segmented by vessel type.

  • Median time in port
    The median time (in hours) that vessels spent in this port before departing.

3) Chose to show "all vessels" or segment vise:


Area Statistics

1) Overview: When entering the port and area monitoring module the first site you see will be the overview page. Here you can choose between different views. Area statistics is one of them:

2) Get started: select the "+ add area" button and select an area you want to monitor:

3) If you click on "vessels in area" you will get a more detailed view:


Crossing lines

1) Overview: When entering the port and area monitoring module the first site you see will be the overview page. Here you can choose between different views. Crossing lines is one of them:

2) Get started: select the "+ add lines" button and select the crossing lines you want to monitor. Press "save":

Live overview

This section shows the line on a map and the vessels that have recently crossed in either direction based on live AIS data. Click on the directions to get more details on the vessels crossing the line:

Click on the charts to get more details:


Notifications

In each section in the monitoring module, you have the option to add notifications. For port statistics, you get these options:

Choose preferred options and hit the "follow" button to activate notifications.


Notifications when vessels set a destination

Upgrade to get notifications if a vessel or a list of vessels set a destination to a specific port and ETA, and later when they change their destination or ETA.


Combine the notifications as you like

Upgrade to get notifications when a vessel or a list of vessels sets the destination to a specific port arrives at the port, or changes to another port. For example: Notify me if these vessels set a destination or arrive in Houston.
