ShipIntel is a modularized software application for shipping professionals where you can access some basic functionality and invite in as many colleagues as you want for free. You can subscribe to the paid modules to expand the value of your subscription. Further, if you choose to upgrade, you and your team will also access the features in the mobile app.

Historical AIS data gives insight into the vessels' historical trading patterns and the ports they have been visiting. The historical AIS data consists of AIS data from satellites, terrestrial senders, and dynamic AIS sources.

On the free plan, you and your team get 10 free views of historical tracks on the map, and tables on the vessel screen which are filterable by time period. Further, if you upgrade this module, you and your team will get unlimited access to all vessel's AIS voyage histories. The AIS voyage histories can be viewed:

  • as tracks in the map

  • in a table (filterable by time periods)

How to use the Historical AIS Module: From Vessel Lists

1) Create or go to a previously created vessel list. This is the view you want to have:

2) On the free plan, you and your team can only access technical descriptions for vessel lists. To access the "Port visit history" you will need to upgrade to the Voyage history module.

3) In the "Port visit history" tab you can see all vessels in your vessel list togheter with an overview of ports visited.

4) If you would like more information regarding each port visit you can easily hower over the visit and provide more information.

Mapping and processing AIS data

AIS spoofing is an increasing problem for the maritime industry. We detect and adjust for AIS errors. We map when the MMSI numbers are spam and if an MMSI number is used by more than one vessel.

How to use the Voyage History Module: From Vessel Card

1) Click on a preferred vessel on the map or use the search bar.

2) In the Vessel details to the left of the map you will see the "AIS voyage history" field.

3) Click on the different cards to get more information.
