How to Access & Manage the Port Cards in ShipIntel

In this guide, we will explain how you access and manage the port cards in ShipIntel.

The usage of port cards is quite similar to vessel cards. The main difference is the information you will be provided with.


How to Access the Port Cards - Through Search

1) Search for the port of your interest through the search bar

2) Once the port appears in the search results, select it by clicking on it

The app will automatically lead and display you the port on the map.

3) On the left-hand side of the screen you will notice the given port's information card.

In the port's information card, you can find information about vessels in port, at anchorage, incoming vessels, recent departures, and available bunker grades.

4) To access more detailed information about the port, click on the "actions" button.

5) Once you have obtained the necessary information, click on the arrow button at the upper-left corner and the app will take you back to the map and location of the port.


How to Access a Port Card - Hover & Click

1) Look for your port in the map

2) Once you have found it, hover the cursor over the port in the map

As you place the cursor on the port's icon, a pop-up will appear. This is the minimized port's info card. In it, you can see, the flag, vessels in port, and weather.

3) If you are interested in more information about the port, click on the port.

4) Now, on the left-hand side of the screen you will notice the given port's information card.

In the port's information card, you can find information about vessels in port, at anchorage, incoming vessels, recent departures, and available bunker grades.

5) If you wish to access even more detailed and extended information about the port, its activity, and much more, simply click on the "action" button.

6) Once you have obtained the necessary information, click on the arrow button at the upper-left corner and the app will take you back to the map and location of the port.


Explore the shortcut buttons:

  • Notifications: The last shortcut button is placed separately from the others. This button allows you to get notified when a vessel arrives at a port or leaves it. Sounds interesting? To turn on the notification, simply click the button that looks like a bell.

  • Create route: By clicking on this button, you can create a sea route from or to the port.

  • Notes: This button allows you to add and edit notes belonging to the vessel.

  • Locate in map: This button shows you the location of the vessel on the map. By hovering over it you could also get the exact coordinates of the vessel.

  • Port Activity: Here you can read about the vessels in port, the recent arrivals, and the vessels at anchorage. Select your preferred option when clicking on the "Port Activity" icon.

  • Weather: This is where you are able to study the weather forecast for this port further. Choose between the general weather or the tidal waves when clicking on the "Weather" button.

  • Bunker Prices: If you want to learn more about the bunker prices for this port this is where you do it. Just click on the button! Note: that this option will not be available if the port is not a bunker port.

  • Photos and Images: By clicking on this icon you can access and make adjustments to the photos you have uploaded to the port. This is also where you can add new photos to the port.
