With ShipIntel you can use filters to narrow down your search, locating specific vessels and ports, or finding types of vessels and ports.

In this guide, we will show you how to add filters to your ShipIntel search.

How to Add Filters to Your Search

To help you narrow down your search of vessels or ports in ShipIntel you have the possibility to use filters.

1) Click on Search in the ShipIntel menu on the left hand side.

When clicking on the search feature, a pop-up will appear. To the right in the search pop-up, you will see the filters.

2) Toggle between the different tabs to choose either Vessels, Ports, Vessel lists or Port lists. The default search view, when opening the search feature, is the Vessels-tab.

3) Add filters to narrow down and specify your search.

4) Click on the desired vessel, port, vessel list or port list. ShipIntel will show the vessel or port on your map together with its information card.

For your information: If you want you can also create a vessel list with vessels or ports from your search. Just click on the "Create Vessel List" or "Save as Port List" next to the ones you want to add and click on the "Save as vessel/port list" in the lower right corner of the search pop-up.

Filters when Searching for Vessels

ShipIntel's search filters for vessel searches allow you to easily find specific vessels, types of vessels, vessels having recently departed from an area or on underway to one, and much more.

The filters you can apply are; Vessel segment, sub segment, vessel variation, technical details, last departure, current operation, reported destination and "Other filters"

Filter based on vessel segment

Click on the drop-down menu under Segment to filter based on vessel segment or type in your search.

You can filter based on Dry bulk, Tanker, Chemical LPG, LNG, Container, Car carrier, Oil service, Combo, and Other.

Filter based on vessel sub segment and vessel variation

After choosing a vessel segment, you have the option to further narrow down you search by selecting subsegment and vessel variation.

Choosing the subsegments and the vessel variation is done the same was as choosing the main segment.

Note: Only applicable subsegments for the main segment are shown. The vessel variation option is only available if vessel variation is relevant.

Filter based on Technical Details

You can search for vessels by specifying the technical details for the vessel or type of vessel you are searching for. Filter your search by dragging the dot on each filter option, setting the minimum and maximum values, or by clicking the keyboard icon to the right of each filter option name.

For flag, click the drop-down menu to select your desired flag.

You can filter based on Summer deadweight (MT), Summer draft, TPC, LOA, Beam, Year built, and flag.

Note: Only filters relevant to the selected segments are shown.

Filter based on Last Departure

You can filter your vessel search based on the vessel's last departure.

  • Select "Last port areas" or type the Last port.

  • Choose the vessels Laden and Ballast condition and set the departure time window.

Filter based on Current Operation

Using this filter, you can find and locate vessel search based on the current operation.

Here, you can filter and choose from the vessel's current operation

  • In area

  • Its Laden or Ballast condition

  • Whether or not the vessel is at sea, in port or in anchorage

  • The vessel's compass heading

Filter based on Reported Destination

Filtering based on Reported Destination, lets you find and locate vessels based on their Destination Area, Destination Port and ETA.

  • The Destination Area filters your search based on the area where the vessel's AIS reported destination is located.

  • The Destination Port filters your search based on the vessel's AIS reported destination port.

  • The ETA filters your search based on the vessel's AIS reported estimated time of arrival at the destination port.

Filter using Other Filters

In addition to the filters above, you can also filter your vessel search using other filters.

The other filters include

  • Current speed

  • Current draft

  • Heading degrees

  • Current port ATA

  • Current port ETD

Filters when Searching for Ports

ShipIntel's search filters for maritime Port searches allow you to easily find specific ports, types of ports, and ports capable of accommodating different types of vessels.

Type in the desired country, vessel segment and/or port, or click the drop-down menu to choose from the list.

The filters you can apply are; Country, Vessel segment, and Port Type.

Filters when Searching for Vessel Lists and Port Lists

You can also search for Vessel Lists and Port Lists.

1) Once you are in the search feature pop-up, choose either Vessel List or Port Lists based on your desired search.

2) Here, you can filter the search based on the Vessel- or Port Lists' author (the one who made the list).

3) Use the drop-down menu to choose between the authors or click to type in the authors name directly.
