In ShipIntel, vessels are sorted into different segments and sub-segments, allowing you to customize your map view according to your needs.

How to add vessel segments and sub-segments: Step-by-step instructions
1. Open the map
Click the "Map" feature on the left-hand side of the screen.
2. Access the vessel segments
Click on the "Vessel" icon in the upper-right corner of your map.
A list of different vessel segments will appear on the right side of your screen.
3. Select a vessel segment
Click on the vessel segment you want to view on your map.
For this example, we will click on "Dry Bulk".
4. View and manage sub-segments
To view every vessel in the "Dry Bulk" segment, you need to select all the sub-segments:
Click on the "All sub-segments" button at the top of the list. Once selected, the button next to it will turn blue.
- If you only wish to view specific sub-segments, click on the sub-segments (e.g., Kamsarmax) you want to include. Selected sub-segments will appear on your map.
- Once you have selected your vessel segments and sub-segments, click on the map to view and manage them.

5. Add more segments (Optional)
If you want to add more vessel segments to your map, choose another one and repeat the previous steps.
How to remove vessel segments and sub-segments
1) Click on the vessel icon, when in map view, and click on the vessel segment you want to remove.
This also applies if you only want to remove a specific sub-segment belonging to that main segment.
2) To remove sub-segments, simply toggle the button by clicking on them again. They (the buttons) will turn grey when deselected.
Tips and Additional Information
Selecting multiple segments and sub-segments: You can add multiple vessel segments and sub-segments to your map by repeating the steps for each segment.
Deselecting segments and sub-segments: To remove a segment or sub-segment from the map, click on it again to deselect it.
