❓Is ShipIntel only for large enterprises?

No, definitely not. ShipIntel is for any company, large or small. The features included in each of the two ShipIntel subscriptions, and its pricing model, makes ShipIntel a preferred software for SMBs involved in maritime business. ❓Can I get a license with only one seat in ShipIntel?

Yes, you can. If you require only one seat in ShipIntel, there's no need to purchase more. Although we believe that team collaboration enhances your ShipIntel experience, you can start with a single-seat subscription. You have the flexibility to add more seats to your team or upgrade your subscription at any time during the term.

The easiest way to get started is to start with one seat in ShipIntel Essentials and then you can add more seats or upgrade to ShipIntel Pre-Fix later.

❓Will I be charged for updates and changes?

No, we will not charge you for updates during your subscriptions. If we decide to make something new, update or make changes to ShipIntel, you will not be charged.

Changes made to ShipIntel are based on feedback from our users, so we don't feel we should charge extra for that.

❓Do I need to have a Microsoft 365 license to get started with ShipIntel?

No you don't. You can still use your email and make a password.

❓I'm a Microsoft 365 user, how do I get access to the ShipIntel integration?

All ShipIntel customers have access to the ShipIntel Essentials. Simply go to Microsoft AppSource, search for ShipIntel, and follow the instructions.

If you aren't a ShipIntel customer but you are using Microsoft 365, you can find ShipIntel Essentials in the market place in Microsoft Teams; open Microsoft Teams, click on Apps, search for ShipIntel - and follow the instructions.

❓Can Microsoft Outlook handle 30 000 a week?

Contrary to some claims, Microsoft Outlook is fully capable of managing and organizing a large volume of emails, including over 30 000 maritime emails per week. Some people and companies might say otherwise, but rest assured, Outlook’s capacity is substantial.

The ShipIntel email system brings your emails all the way from Outlook to your pre-voyage calculations, as a maritime extension of Microsoft Outlook.


❓Which browsers and devices do ShipIntel support?

You can log in to your ShipIntel account from your PC, laptop, iPhone, or Android device.

To access ShipIntel from your laptop, desktop, or mobile phone, you need access to WIFI, cabled net, or 3G.

Supported browsers:

We support Safari, and Chromium-based browsers (like Google Chrome, Brave, and Microsoft Edge).

Special note for laptops

We don't support old Windows machines with small screens and low PPI (pixels per inch).

Special requirements for Android devices:

ShipIntel by Maritime Optima operate on Android 6 (API 23) and newer versions.

Special requirements for iPhones devices:

ShipIntel by Maritime Optima operates on Apple iPhone 8 and newer versions, with iOS 13.4 or newer.

The Rules and Principles of the Universal Design

We support the Rules and Principles of Universal Design but admit that we cannot always support the combination of big letters and small screens on all types of devices.

ShipIntel runs on Microsoft Azure.

Customers using the Microsoft 365 and support the Microsoft Entra protocol, can tell their employees to login to ShipIntel by using the Microsoft SSO. Then ShipIntel becomes a part of your company's IT data and security policy and your employees data is then protected by the Microsoft Entra protocol.

For Microsoft 365 users the ShipIntel Essential application can be integrated in their Microsoft Teams subscriptions.

❓What is the difference between ShipIntel and ShipAtlas?

ShipIntel is for companies involved in maritime business. ShipAtlas is for individuals and consumers interested in following ships.

ShipAtlas is for individuals wanting to "just" follow vessels. In ShipAtlas you can follow one vessel or a group of vessels.

The business model for ShipAtlas is freemium. You can register a free user account and start as a free user and then you can upgrade and unlock more features by paying. Today, ShipAtlas offer 4 subscriptions:

ShipIntel is for companies involved in maritime business. In ShipIntel you will find
