A Guide to the ShipAtlas Map Menu – ShipAtlas Web

In this guide, you will get an overview of the map menu in ShipAtlas and learn what each button does.

The map menu is located in the upper right corner of your ShipAtlas map. It gives you quick access to map customization and weather features.


Map Menu Buttons

Here is an overview of each button in the map menu and what it does.

Select Vessel Segments

The Vessel icon allows you to choose which vessel segments appear on the map.

View Ports Visited by Vessel Segments

The Anchor icon allows you to display ports visited by specific vessel segments on the map.

Customize the Map

The Brush icon open the styles and layers menu. Here you can change the map style and add map layers to your map.

Weather

The Cloud icon opens the weather menu. Here you can add weather forecast layers to your map, including wind, wave heights, ocean currents, and precipitation.


Map Navigation

The lower right corner of the ShipAtlas map contains buttons for zooming in and out and rotating the map.

Zoom In and Out

  • Click the (+) button in the lower right corner to zoom in

  • Click the () button in the lower right corner to zoom out

💡 Tip: You can also zoom in and out using your mouse or trackpad. Click here to learn more.

Rotate your ShipAtlas Map

Above the zoom buttons, you will find the Rotate button. Click it to select your preferred rotation speed.

💡 Tip: Try the 3D Globe map projection with the rotation feature for an immersive experience.

While rotating, you can still zoom in and out, and drag the map to adjust your view.
