No one knows where every vessel in the world is at all time, or remember the location of all ports. Therefore we have created a search bar that our customers can use to easily find the vessel or port they want to learn more about.
How to Search for Vessels or Ports
When you are on the ShipAtlas map you will find the search function at top of the page.
Click on the search bar,
choose whether you want to search for a vessel or a port, then start typing.
As soon as you start typing, a list of vessels or ports starting with the same letter you use will appear. If you can not see the vessel or port you are searching for, type in more letters to narrow your search. When you have found the vessel or port you were searching for click on it and the app will show the vessel or port on your map with its information card.
How to Add Filters to Your Search
There are a lot of vessels and ports out there and so ShipAtlas gives you
the option of narrowing down your search using filters.
Click on the adjustment button in the upper right corner of the search bar.
Click on the filters you want to add to your search.
Just scroll down the "Search Filters" menu and explore your options!
Click on the "Search" button when you are done, and continue your search.
Note that you can always click on the "Reset Filters" to refresh your filters and start over.
When you have found the vessel or port you were searching for click on it.
ShipAtlas will show the vessel or port on your map with its information card.
Psst! If you want you can also create a vessel list with vessels or ports from your search. Just click on the square next to the ones you want to add and click on the "Save as vessel/port list" in the lower right corner of the search pop-up.
You now know how to use the ShipAtlas search bar.
In the next guide, you will learn how to change the style of your ShipAtlas map.
