When choosing a lot of different vessel segments or subsegments it is hard to separate them in the map. That is why we have made it possible to change the color of the vessel segments in ShipAtlas

How to Change the Color of a Vessel Segment

Step 1

Open your map and click on the button with the vessel icon on it, under the search bar. A list of the different vessel segments will appear and you can see what segments are showing on your map. In our example, the "Dry bulk" section is showing.

To change the color of our vessel segment we will need to click on the dry bulk section.

Step 2

Notice the color palette next to the "All Sub-Segments" option that we have turned on. In our example, this color palette is yellow, which means every sub-segment we have chosen is appearing with a yellow color on our map.

To change this we need to click on the color palette.

A new pop-up presenting 16 different color options will open.

Click on the color you prefer, we will choose red color.

The pop-up will close automatically after the choice is made and you will notice that all the color palettes have changed to the same color.

Step 3

Close the vessel sub-segment overview by dragging it down or clicking on the map behind it. You can see that the color of your vessel segment has changed color.

How to Change the Color of One Sub-Segment

Sometimes we also may want to separate our sub-segments from each other

to better organize our map. Luckily this is easily done in ShipAtlas!

Step 1

Open the vessel segment by clicking the vessel button under the search bar and choose a vessel segment in the appearing list. We are choosing "Dry Bulk" since these are the sub-segments shown on our map.

Step 2

As you can see, we have selected five different sub-segments under "Dry Bulk".

To easier separate these from each we are going to change their color.

Click on each color palette belonging to the different sub-segments, you will find them on the right side of the screen. Then, click on the color you want each of the

sub-segments to be showing on your map.

In our case, we are going to choose five different colors, one for each sub-segment.

Step 3

If you want to add more subsegments from another vessel segment section and change their color as well, just click on a new vessel segment and repeat the steps.

We are going to add some sub-segments from the "Tanker" segment with the red color.

When you are done, close the pop-up by dragging it down or clicking on the map behind it and enjoy the view of the various colors on your map!
