This screenshot shows how to add vessels by choosing first criteria. Here we choose LPG as a vessel segment.

Remember, that you can create lists of vessels using different criteria: name, summer draft, yard built, flag, previous name etc.

We add the next criteria, year built. Our list is almost ready - select the vessels and click "Add vessels". The will be added to your lists.

You can remove some of the vessels from the list right away, or save it and edit later. You can also rename your vessel lists.

Now, after you have created a vessel list, you can add it to your map.

Go to the menu on the right, and choose "Your Lists".

When you add the vessel lists to your map, the vessels from your lists will be marked with a circle. You can also select the colors of your lists.

Here we can see our LPG vessels all over the map, marked with a green circle:

Hover over your vessel lists on the left side, and the vessels will become highlighted.

Click on any vessel to get more AIS information or its technical description.

How to edit or delete a vessel list

Select "Vessel lists" from the menu on the left side. Select the vessel list you want to edit.

You should update your lists every now and then in case there have been some changes to the vessels in your list, or you want to delete and/or add some vessels.

Some examples on how to use vessel lists in ShipAtlas

  • Traders can create a list of vessels they frequently fix, which lets them know where those vessels trade. They can also ask for a “P&C freight quote”.

  • If you are working within Panamax chartering, you can create lists of vessels that monitor your competitors; one list for each competitor in different colors.

  • If you are a Ship Owning Association or an insurance company, you might want to create a list of vessels with a specific flag or a list with vessels that belong to your customers which you, for instance, can show to your visitors on a screen in your lobby.
