Public vessel descriptions
Each vessel in our base has technical description in questionnaire templates based on Q88, Baltic Form, C-form and B-form. With ShipAtlas you can access vessel technical descriptions absolutely for free, with any plan.
To view vessel technical description, simply click on a vessel in the map, or search for it in the search field. Then click on "More details".
Information in the questionnaires is divided into sections, and you can find here technical details, information about ownership, classification, engines, etc. It is also possible to quickly search for the vessel data you need (for example, LOA, insurance, classification):
If you would like to add or change some vessel information, you can create a private copy of any vessel questionnairy. It will be kept in Vessel Center, and only you will have access to this private copy.
How to create a Private Questionnaire
You can copy the public questionnaire of any vessel and create its private copy. Then it will be visible only for you.
Choose a Vessel on the map or in the Vessel Center.
View the technical information on "Public Questionnaire"
Click on: "Create a private questionnaire" pop-up window
Make changes in the questionnaire and save it privately (or share with the public if you want to)
Data you edit or add in your private questionnaire, will be only visible to you.
Remember, that you will still have access to the public questionnaire (it is available for all users in ShipAtlas)
You can also search within the sections of both the public and confidential questionnaire template for any specific technical details about the vessel.
Change or add any information you want. The changes are highlighted, and you will be asked if you want to save the changes before you leave the page.
If you want us to make this update public, you can select "Save and suggest public changes".
Search for a vessel or a group of vessels matching your criteria
When you search for a vessel, the search engine will start checking data in the public questionnaires. But if you add some details into a private questionnaire, the search results will be updated. So the more data you add, the better your search results are. You can use such search filters as segments, sub-segments, LOA, Beam, dwt, draft, IMO, year built and yard.
Example: If you have changed the LOA of a vessel in your confidential questionnaire template, this will be the LOA on the vessel if she matches your search criteria.
Every piece of information you add is your private information
You will also find Operations button where you can manage the vessel's operation history. Here you can add cargoes, charterers, charterparties, load, and discharge ports. The info you add will also be added to your private questionnaire for this vessel.
Check Vessel Center to see all your private vessel questionnaires.
You can also search for vessels, see the technical data and edit questionnaires from your mobile device.
Rest your mouse pointer on the vessel
Open Vessel Center from the menu and use the filters and search for a vessel by its name, IMO etc.
Select the vessel you are interested in, and you will have an access to the same information as on the web/computer.
Choose Public Questionnaire if you want to add or change some information, and then click on "Create a private copy of this questionnaire"
After you add the details, you can save it or share with the public.
Benefits of using ShipAtlas as your private database
It is easy and convenient to collect all the data in one digital place. And you should own the data of the vessels you own or have time-chartered. You will also be sure that your team members (if you have any) have the access to the updated information.
You might also want to collect and save some data about vessel you are considering to buy or charter in.
Get a quick and easy access to vessel data. You can use ShipAtlas on all your devices.
Are you having lunch with customers and you get important tips you would like to keep? Or maybe you are participating in a meeting and you hear something worth remember? You can easily create a note or edit vessel technical description in ShipAtlas app.
Another case: You charter a vessel for either a short or long period of time. When the term of your TC period expires, you will redeliver the vessel to her owners. But with ShipAtlas, you don't need to redeliver the information you have collected while you time-chartered the vessel. It might happen that you will take the same vessel on time charter again later. And if you do so, you still will keep the access to that information.
By collecting and storing vessel data, in a very user-friendly software available cross platforms, you will gain a huge advantage over your competitors!
