Free and easy Sea Route Calculator
Create sea routes from a port to any other port, or from a vessels real-time position in the map to any port r another vessel. Drag and drop the line similar to what you do in Google maps.
Add more ports along the way and create more complicated sea routes if you want to measure the sea distance between a several points. It may be other ports, vessels or just a point on the map.
You might also consider Using Sea Calculator with additional information layers, such as weather condition, congestions or ECA zones.
How to use Sea Route Calculator
Before you start calculation, you can add Vessel segment or sub-segment to could have an overview of the market on your map.
Let's say you are a Chartering Manager, and you work with tankers - both Suez and Aframax tankers. So first you might need to check the market situation with Suez-max and Aframax tankers as sub-segments on the map:
Click on any vessel on your map and find her real-time position, speed, last port, where she is heading and if she is "in ballast" or in "laden condition". The AIS data is updated almost in real-time.
Select the Sea Route calculator tool from the menu on the left side in the map.
Start writing the name of the vessel or the port you want to start your route from. You can also click right on the vessel on the map, and start building your route from the vessel.
Add fuel consumption if you need a rough estimate.
Calculate the route and sea distance
Adjust your sea route: change the route manually or add more waypoints.

You can also add more ports along the sea route. Just drag and drop the line similar to what you do in Google maps.
Or you can add an additional point in the Sea Route Calculator settings (blue field on your left side).
After you have completed this step, you will see the updated sea route. This is the route we get if we choose not to go through Singapore.
Note, that you can change the route according to weather conditions, congestions, piracy messages or other reasons.
Now we will go through the steps for using Sea Route Estimator by ShipAtlas on your mobile phone.
You might want to start by choosing the Panamax dry cargo sub-segment from the menu at the button. That will give you overview on the Panamax market.
Then select the Sea Route icon (right button in the bottom menu) and start writing the name of a port or a vessel. You can also click on the vessel and start building your route from its description.
If you wish, you can also select "Speed and consumption" and add fuel consumption. This will give you a rough estimate on the total con consumption.
In case you want to add a port or a vessel, tap on the box with the route. Select "Add" and start typing the name of the vessel or the port.
To change the order of the ports or vessels, tap on the box with the route. Then hold your finger over the port you want to move and move it where you want it to be.
You also can delete the route and start all over again or use other tools in Maritime Optima. If you want to delete a port or vessel, just tap on the box with the route. Click on the "x" on the right side of the port or vessels' name.
