๐ŸŒŽ ShipAtlas by Maritime Optima is a data and knowledge driven maritime software empowering you and your colleagues to work from anywhere.

To start using ShipAtlas, you will first need a user account. If you donโ€™t have one already, you can sign up for free here: app.maritimeoptima.com

In ShipAtlas you will find data on more than 5.200 ports. We combine real-time AIS data, weather satellite data and publicly available data. We continuously spend time and knowledge in cleaning and unifying messy and complex data sets, so you can get quality information on any of the ports.

Mobile App

This is how to find details and port data if you use ShipAtlas app on your phone.

  1. Start typing port name in the search field in the top of your screen

  2. Use port filters if needed. Select the criteria for your search from the drop down menu. When you have selected a criteria (say country), select "Save" and search for ports within Algeria.

With ShipAtlas you can access port information such as weather, tides, port activity.

If you want to know the bunker grades you will find it o the port card as well.


You can see all the ports on your map, if you turn the "All port" layer on. If you wish to do it, go to the right menu and choose a port icon.

This is how port icons look if you zoom in. Blue when not selected, red when clicked at, and with a square box around when the port is listed in a port list.

If you are interested in bunker ports only, you can apply this filter to the map too.

Port Center in ShipAtlas

Select Port Center in the left menu to see what data and port features you can view and use.

Here in the Port center you will see the following options which will help you to capture a quick overview of the market.

We update port activity every 10 minutes.

  • Use an easy port search with filters

  • Besides the port search, you will also find here your Lists of Ports and can create new ones:

  • In the Port Center you can also check the list of bunker ports with prices:

  • Upload files or pictures, and have an overview of all the uploaded documents.

How to find Port Data in ShipAtlas

To access the data on the certain port, first you should find it.

This is how you can search for the port in our app:

  • in the Port Center (search by country, name and country or location code, port type, segment)

  • right in the map in the search field (right upper corner)

Once you find the port you need, click on it. Then the "Port info" page will pop up.

Here you will find information about what vessels are currently in port, recent departures and vessels waiting at anchorage.

This information is based on whether the vessels arriving a port or switch to moored (which some ships never do). Therefore we are working with different technologies and adding other data sources to continuously improve this information.

Here you also can view maritime weather in any port (humidity, precipitation, wind direction and pressure), and view a five day weather forecast.

The weather forecast in ports is updated every 24 hours.

In Port Center you will find information on the tidal water in any port, with the current height and forecast for the next 5 days.

Check out restrictions in the port: view biggest vessels seen in each port within each segment based on dwt, LOA or beam.

Click on the Bunker prices button, if you wish to study bunker grades, availability and price.

Choose Private Information section, if you wish to store your documents, notes and photos.

If you want to view the port on the map, go to the port's location. You can do it by selecting the blue button in the upper right corner "View in map".

On your left side you will see a box the some information about the port:

If you would like to get back to the port page, just click on the "More details" button on your left side.

Note: To study situation in the port, don't forget to add vessel segments to the map. Discover the vessels currently in port - you can view their real-time AIS position and their technical description.

In each port you can view more information by selecting the tabs above.

Among other port data you will find information about the weather, tides, vessels currently in the port and departed recently, bunker prices, grades and availability.
