🌎 ShipAtlas by Maritime Optima is a data and knowledge driven maritime software empowering you and your colleagues to work from anywhere.
To start using ShipAtlas, you will first need a user account. If you don’t have one already, you can sign up for free here: app.maritimeoptima.com
In ShipAtlas you can add notes to almost anything: a vessel, a port, a vessel list, a port list, photos, you can add album or documents.
That mean instead of writing down your notes, you can store all this information online. You will have access and will be able to add notes from all of your devices.
These notes may be private, or you can share it with your team members, and all of them will be able to comment / add notes to a vessel. It is a quick and convenient way to communicate with your colleagues.
A note may look like:
Pål-Robert: We intend to change crew on this vessel when she arrives in Houston mid August. Please let the technical department know the contact details of the agent as soon as possible.
Chartering: I am working this vessel for a 12 months TC to Exxon for
USD / day 40 000. The vessel might be gone upon completion discharging in Houston. Will know latest by end of July.
A note on an external vessel might be:
Chartering: Fearnleys informed me that Shell has fixed this vessel for 6 months for
USD 47 500, delivery USG mid August, redelivery UK /Cont.
Note: If you are working in a team, everyone in your team will see the note. This way you can share the information you collect, save time and avoid misunderstandings.

You can also add notes to vessels right from the map. Click at a vessel in the map and check the vessel box on your left side.
Select "Open Notes" and add your comments in the opened window.
How to add notes to a vessel list in ShipAtlas
In ShipAtlas you can add notes to almost everything. It is a very useful feature, and we hope you will appreciate it.
First you need to create a Vessel List, and then you can start adding notes and remarks.
If you work privately (you have not invited any members to your team), you can add notes to your lists of vessels, ports, a specific vessel instead of writing your comment on a piece of paper.
If you work in the team, these notes will be available to your team. If it is just you, then this information is totally private.
Open the vessel list. Select notebook and start writing a note/comment:
If you open the Team Notebook from the menu, you can search for the notes you have added before.
If you are using ShipAtlas mobile app, follow the same order.
Found the vessel at the map? Just click on it and pull the box up to see more details.
If you are looking for a vessel in the Vessel center, then click on it and you will see vessel description.
Then select "Notebook". You can now see the notes added earlier, by yourself or by other members of your team. Now you can write a new note/comment.
And again, you can search for the notes and comments you made earlier:
