🌎 ShipAtlas by Maritime Optima is a data and knowledge driven software for everyone interested in vessel data, tracking and trades, port activities, congestions, sea routes, marine weather, ice conditions, piracy, zones and maps.

To start using ShipAtlas, you will first need a user account. If you don’t have one already, you can sign up for free here: app.maritimeoptima.com

When you register in ShipAtlas, you automatically subscribe to a Free Plan. It has a lot of useful options, and these articles will tell you about all of them. The best part is that your Free account will stay free forever! We call it Freemium 🙂

Choose your plan - Free or Standard?

ShipAtlas does not require any data input, that's why you can start using it right away, from the day one. You will continually get access to more features as we improve our software based on feedback from our users.

However, we also have a Standard Plan - even better, even more data included! And it is available for only 10 EUR per month. We offer flexible Standard subscriptions for 3, 6 or 12 months.

When you register a free user account in ShipAtlas, you will be able to test some of the Standard features before you decide to upgrade.

The most popular content in the FREE subscription plan

  • Select and de-select segments (vessel types) and sub-segments (vessel size within a segment)

  • A quick search by using the name of a vessel, IMO, MMSI, or name of a port.

  • Search and find vessels by using; segment (type), segments, age, LOA etc.

  • Sea route calculator (from any vessel’s real-time position to any port, or from port to port)

  • Global AIS positions on more than 85.000 vessels

  • Enhanced AIS data for all vessels (Standard feature, 20 free views)
    - Last port and next port with ETA (also shown in map)
    - Estimate of most likely laden / ballast
    - Course
    - Navigational status
    - Current draft and speed

  • Voyage history / trading for all vessels (listed or shown in vessel’s tracks on the map (Standard feature, 10 free vessel views)

Standard Subscription Plan

Standard subscription costs 10 EUR per month (120 EUR annually) and includes:

  • All the Free features, plus:

  • Enhanced AIS data for all vessels (Unlimited)

    • Last port and next port with ETA (also shown in map)

    • Current draft compared with summer draft

    • Navigation status

    • Current speed

    • Assumed ballast or laden report

  • Voyage history for all vessels with show in map option (Unlimited) - you can both follow the vessel's track on the map and see ports of calls listed in a table.



How to upgrade to the Standard Plan

You can upgrade to the Standard Plan from any of your devices.

Upgrade your account to the Standard Plan by clicking on the icon in the bottom left corner:

Or just click on any of the pricing posters you see inside the app, and you will be taken to the pricing page.

The same applies to mobile app, if you wish to purchase the Standard subscription on your phone. You can click on the banner in the menu, then choose your plan and then just follow Apple Pay or Google Play instructions.
