If you want to track a specific ship of interest while on your Standard plan but aren't sure of its location on the map, we’ve made it easy to unlock the ship using our search option.
In this guide you can find how to do it.
Step 1:
Click on the search bar at the top of your screen and enter the ship's name or its IMO/MMSI number. Once the ship appears in the search results, click on it.

Step 2 & 3:
After clicking on the ship in the search results, ShipAtlas will redirect you to the map, and the ship's information card will appear at the bottom of your screen. Click the "Unlock ship" button located at the bottom of the information card. Then, confirm your choice by clicking the "Confirm" button.
The live AIS information and position of the ship will now be available to you. To help you locate this ship on the map more easily, it will be marked with a yellow star from now on.
