In ShipAtlas, you can easily check the distance or estimated sailing time between two ports using our sea route calculator. This tool lets you create a sea route between any ports on the map, and in this guide will show you how to do it.

How to Create a Sea Route From Port to Port

Step 1:

Search for the port you want to create a route from by using the search bar, type port's name, or its LOCODE, and then select the port from search results by clicking on it.

Step 2:

After selecting the port from your search results, ShipAtlas will navigate to the port's location, and the port information card will appear at the left side of your screen.

To create a sea route from the given port, click the blue button named "Actions", located at the top-right side of the ship information card, and then click on "Create route" option.

Step 3:

After clicking the blue button named "Actions", a new screen will appear. Then, click on the empty field under the port's name and search for the port by typing its name or LOCODE.

Once the port appears in the search results, click on it to add it as a destination point for the route. You can add multiple ports within your route and adjust the speed, if needed, to see how it affects the ETA and other voyage details. After adding the port, the route will be generated automatically. If it doesn't load immediately, please wait a moment and it will appear.

Details about the route will be displayed in the information card on the left side of the screen, and the generated route on the map will be shown in green and orange (routing through SECA/ECA zones). You can adjust the route by clicking and dragging any point in the route to your desired position.
