In this guide, we will explain how to add different map layers to your ShipAtlas map to stay informed about the latest happenings at all times.

Good to know:

  • Map layers are not available when choosing the satellite map style.

  • You can add multiple map layers at a time!

How to Add and Remove Map Layers:

Step 1:

Ensure your screen is displaying the map page in ShipAtlas. Click on the paintbrush icon called "Styles and layers". It's located in the upper-right corner of your map.

Step 2:

Select your preferred map layer by clicking on it, or the grey button next to it. You can choose between ECA/SECA, INL, Polar Codes, Sea Ice, Canals, EEZ, Load Lines, Anti Shipping Activities, War Zones, and Wind Farms.

The button next to the map layer will confirm your selection by turning blue.

Step 3:

You can select multiple map layers to be displayed on the map at once. To deselect and remove a chosen map layer from the map, simply click on it one more time. Once it has been deselected, the button will turn grey again.

After choosing your map layer, close the map layer menu by clicking on the "X"

in the upper-left corner of the menu.
