How to Add & Remove Map Layers

In this guide, we will explain how to add different map layers to your ShipAtlas map.

In our How to Navigate in ShipAtlas guide, we showed you a button with a paintbrush icon near the upper right corner of your map. This button allows you to change your map style and/or add layers to your map!

Therefore, in this guide we will tell you more about:

Note that by choosing satellite map style, map layers are not available. In addition, you can add multiple map layers at a time!


How to Add Map Layers in ShipAtlas

Steps to Take:

Make sure your screen shows the map page in ShipAtlas.

1) Click on the button with a paintbrush icon under the search bar.

The map-style pop-up will appear on your screen.

2) Choose the map layer you prefer by clicking on it.

You will know your map layer is changed by the blue highlight that will appear on the map style you choose.

You can choose between: ECA/SECA, INL, Polar Codes, Sea Ice, Canals, EEZ, Load Lines, Anti Shipping Activities, and War and High-Risk Areas.

3) Once the map layer has been chosen close the pop-up by dragging it down or clicking above it.

How To Remove Map Layers in ShipAtlas

Steps to Take:

1) Click on the paintbrush button under the search bar

2) Click on the highlighted layer that you would like to remove.

You will know they are removed when you see the blue highlight around them disappear.

3) Once you have removed them, close the pop-up by dragging it down or clicking above it.
