How to Add and Remove Map Layers – ShipAtlas Mobile

In this guide, you will learn how to add and remove map layers in ShipAtlas.

Map layers help you stay informed about conditions, regulations, and activity directly on the map.

Note: Map layers are not available when using the satellite map style.


Add and remove map layers

Step 1

Make sure you are viewing the map.

Tap the paintbrush icon below the search bar to open the map layer menu.

Step 2

ShipAtlas offers the following map layers:

  • ECA/SECA

  • INL

  • Polar Codes

  • Sea Ice

  • Canals

  • EEZ

  • Load Lines

  • Anti-Shipping Activity

  • War Zones

  • Wind Farms

💡Tip: Learn more on the purpose of each map layer here.

Tap a map layer to enable it. A blue highlight means the map layer is enabled.

You can select multiple layers at the same time.

Step 3

Close the menu by dragging it down or tapping outside the menu.

Step 4

Tap any highlighted zone on the map to explore the layer's details.

Note: You can tap all layers except the Sea Ice layer.


You are now ready to add and customize map layers in ShipAtlas.
