How to Search for Vessels and Ports in ShipAtlas

Search for a vessel or port

You can quickly find vessels and ports directly from the search bar on the ShipAtlas map.

Step 1

Open the ShipAtlas map. Tap the Search bar at the top of the screen.

Step 2

Choose whether you want to search for a Vessel or a Port,

and start typing the name of the vessel or port.

Step 3

As you type, ShipAtlas will display a list of matching vessels or ports. Review the suggested results, and tap the vessel or port you want to view.

The selected vessel or port will appear on the map, along with its information card.


Good to know

You can also search using unique identifiers:

  • IMO number for vessels

  • MMSI number for vessels

  • UN/LOCODE for ports

To explore ports in a specific country:

  1. Select the Ports option in the search.

  2. Enter the country name.

Tip: If you cannot find the vessel or port you are looking for, type more letters to narrow your search.


You are now ready to search for vessels and ports in ShipAtlas.
